Week 5 Friday 29th October:
I have started my website this week. I have made a lot of progress in this week. Mr. Andrews had told me that I would need to book time with him to perfect my poster and also my eye. Instead, in one of the class he sat down with me and helped me then. I have got my poster ready now. My poster is black and white with a photo (from a Polaroid) of a woman in agony in the picture, and an eye on the top layer and only the pupils are in colour (red). It is called Snap Snap with a quote of “this is one photo that won’t last forever”. The women represents the victim, the eye represents the murder or the ‘bad person’ that is constantly watching over them and the photo represents the souvenir that the murderer likes to keep to himself as proof for future needs. Now that I have my story all I need is to write a synopsis and some photos and a trailer to put in the website and then to perfect it then I am done. This week has helped me to understand that Photoshop can’t be rushed if you want a good quality picture as an outcome. I also have extended my knowledge on Photoshop.

reflection/evaluation
Week 4 Friday 29th October:
I have found my idea and negotiated with Mr. Andrews that I would hand in my part A today as I had a disadvantage of not having an idea and that everything was will ne done by then as I have found a genre that I could relate too. The inspiration that I have gotten for my movie is the ‘Saw’ and ‘The human centipede’ combining these two movies; I have made a gruesome horror/thrilling movie that would be a good idea to create about. I started to use pictures to make my poster. On Tuesday, I have gotten a photo from Google and started Photoshoping for my website. My idea is to get one eye and Photoshop it to look as if there are bloody tears around the eyes. The eye represents that there is always someone watching them (characters), the bloody tears represent the suffering of what the characters are going through. Therefore all I have to do is my character profile, synopsis and gallery for the website. This week I have learnt that I have to be more focused and more organized to catch up to my classmates if I want to finish this in time.

Week 3 Friday 22nd October:
This week I have been working through my part A. Part A is all the planning of what the website will be like, what will be included in the website and everything that is in that category. This is a big disadvantage to me as I still do not know what movie ‘idea’ I am doing for my poster and etc. I am trying to at least outline the base of the website in the genre of horror. Maybe this will give me an idea of what I want as my project. This week I have been looking through the internet for ideas that is related to the genre of horror and thriller. This has helped me to think of several of ideas that would be suitable for my project. Looking at different websites for horror movies and different posters did give me some ideas but is still unclear. As part A is due next Tuesday I really have to get a move on meaning that I no more time to spare and that I need to really be focused on my ideas and actually pick a movie that I can get some inspiration from. This week I have learnt that making a website for a movie I have no idea about is not a piece of cake. Mr. Andrews had suggested to maybe get a random title, quote and picture like the exercise we did few weeks ago but I think I want to be unique and have my own idea.

This week, Mr. Andrews had asked us to go to blackboard and get a random title from ‘random Wikipedia’ and than to get a random quote and finally a random picture and make a poster out of it. I had gotten the word, Lisp. The quote I got was “there is no shortage of good days; it is good lives that are hard to come by”. And the pictures I have used are a field of flowers and a man with his hands in a circle up against the shadows of the sun. The genre I have made into was one of the inspiring/sad moving movies. This is a good activity as it is helping me extend my Photoshop skills and also help my mind to think creatively and actually work it for the actual assignment. Mr. Andrews had also announced in class this week that we did not have to create a website for our movies in particular. We were allowed to make a completely random one, of course with a genre and also a synopsis that will be a real movie like standard type. For this, I took the opportunity to make a movie of a horror/thriller type movie. I don’t know what it will be about and what it is called, but I do know that the movie I am going to make is a movie based upon something in the lines of gruesome and thrilling but not sure what yet.

This week Mr. Andrews has introduced what we were going to do this term. We were to make a website for our movie that we had filmed last term. As this work is individual, there are advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of this project is that, now that it is independent work, there are no disagreements amongst us and also the ideas that are used are all ideas that I will like and agree too. The disadvantages are that the more brains the better it will be, meaning that the more people put an effort into the better it will be. But overall I am very excited in doing this project independently. To get us all warmed up and back to working mode, Mr. Andrews had asked us to pick one film that is a similar genre to the film we made and compare and contrast the two films. As the movie we made is inspired by the movie ‘Lovely Bones’ the genre we were to look at were supernatural drama. I have not yet picked a movie out yet. Hopefully I will have one before next week.
