Evaluation/reflection

doing this unit, i have learnt how to use a camera and how to shoot a movie. i have learned a lot of things that real directors do in 'real' movies and also how they planned and how they start. yes, there were lots of up's and down's but there were no guarantees that this was gonna be a piece of cake. i had problems with using the camera, e.g not using the zoom button, keeping the camera still, getting the lighting right, getting the actors into position and lots more. there were lots of agruments between the teams as well as good ideas.
working as a group was handy but at times it was a lot of work. ideas not coming together, one wanting this and the other wanting that, fights, arguments and wrecking the movie. i have found out that our group was working individually even though we were a 'group'. no on was listening to each other and individual ideas were always the 'best'. with that our whole group started to ignore each other and each others ideas until a fight started up.
as our grades were upon our movie, we swept our problems aside and started to listen to each other again. with that we finished filming and also have started to put together our shots into a rough edit. with that i was satisfied. overall, from this assignment, i have learnt how to work progessively with my group and also learnt how to be patient and that rushing things will never get you anywhere but an average grade. i have enjoyed doing this assignment and can't wait until i edit the rough edited movie into a movie next term.
